In late 2018, representatives of the founders of the Redstocking movement in Iceland gathered and discussed the possibility of opening a website in cooperation with the Women´s History Archives and the National and University Library of Iceland. On a meeting the founders had with the National Librarian, the director of preservation at the National Library and the director of the Women´s History Archives on November 19 of that year, the proposal was approved and the collaboration started. The website officially opened in Icelandic on October 24, 2022. The project managers on behalf of Redstocking movement included Auður Hildur Hákonardóttir, Dagný Kristjánsdóttir, Edda Óskarsdóttir, Elísabet Gunnarsdóttir, Gerður G. Óskarsdóttir, Guðrún Ágústsdóttir, Guðrún Hallgrímsdóttir, Helga Ólafsdóttir and Kristín Ástgeirsdóttir.

The website is supported by the Equality Fund, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Human Rights Council of the City of Reykjavík, the Reykjavík City Fund and the Eðvarð Sigurðsson Memorial Fund.
