The 5th of December - biannual meeting


On the 5th of December The Women's History Archives held their biannual morning coffee, in collaboration with The Icelandic Women's Rights Association. The meeting began at eight in the conference room of The National Library and was well attended. 

Ragnhildur Hólmgeirsdóttir from The Women's History Archives opened the meeting.

Arnheiður Steinþórsdóttir, student at the University of Iceland, presented her B.A. thesis:"When Women Conquered the Radio," about the radio shows headed by The Icelandic Women Rights Association and The Federation of Icelandic Women's Societies on The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service 1945-1954, which are partly preserved at The Women's History Archives.

Anna Dröfn Ágústsdóttir and Lóa Auðunsdóttir from the Iceland University of Arts presented their ongoing research about the visual history of the women's rights movements in Iceland. Margrét Aðalheiður Þorgeirsdóttir, graduate from the Iceland University of Arts, has done research for the project on the imagery of the Icelandic Redstockings movement preserved in The Women's History Archives. 

Tatjana Latinovic, of The Icelandic Women's Rights Association, closed the meeting.
